Issue
A new, senior member of the leadership team faced conflict from within her team, including complaints that her leadership style was dictatorial and unreasonable. Two team members were threatening to sue the company. The company perceived that she was unable to lead her team.
Solution
- We assessed the team and the leader’s style, ascertaining the real issues.
- We coached the leader, introducing her to leadership principles that enabled her to be more open, confident and straight. She created positive relationships within her team and established ways of working which supported direct communication pre-empting conflict.
- Team members who, actually, had been subversively sabotaging the performance of the whole team, left.

This was a sensitive issue for us and we really appreciated how well you listened and were able to identify a way forward that took all aspects into account. Your highly tuned sense of the issues meant the leader and their team regained their confidence, performance was restored and, as an organisation, we were able to avoid what could have been a very expensive litigation process.”
